With reference to your letter No. 1698/05/ 0.8.0.conf. dated 2nd. January, 1906, I have the honour to inform you that, should it be decided that the lands account

between your Government and the War Department is to be con-

-sidered a running one and available for future exchanges and

transactions, it is proposed by the War Department to redeem the Crown Rent of Inland Lot No. 427 at, say, 15 years purchase, or whatever may be agreed on as a fair value, and charge the

amount against the credit now standing in their favour.
